| Becca Gohn is an emerging artist and singer-songwriter whose voice captures both the flirtatious brassiness of singers like Billie Holiday while embracing the sweet innocence of pop artists like Donna Lewis. Her distinctive song-writing blends thought-provoking lyrics and engaging melodies with her unique and captivating vocals, giving rise to an overall musical style that brings a refreshing twist to the genre of adult contemporary music. With strong influences in both jazz and pop music, her song-writing and vocal approach often detour more prominently into those areas. Her background in classical music and the subtle blending of folk influence can also be perceived upon a closer listen to her music. Becca's debut album "Recollections", released in 2002, was her first major undertaking into the world of recording. As an independent artist, Becca wrote, financed and co-produced this twelve track collection of piano and vocal ballads with the help of fellow singer - songwriters, Andy and Denise. With a full-time career in accounting to "pay the bills", this endeavour was no small feat for the young artist. Six years following her debut, Becca has delivered a stunning follow up with her most recent venture, a five song EP recorded at Morning Star Studios with Grammy® Award-winning producer Glenn Barratt. | Becca’s interest in music began at a young age with musical theatre and study in classical piano and voice. She started writing songs at the age of twelve, drawing inspiration from artists such as Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. During her formative years, Becca performed in numerous singing groups including Savoir Faire, a collegiate a cappella group, the Penn State Concert Choir, and she fronted both jazz and rock bands. In addition, she received first place awards in various local and regional singing competitions and performed the national anthem for high school and college events. Nowadays, Becca spends her spare time enjoying her continued efforts in song-writing and can be found performing at live music establishments in the Delaware valley and surrounding areas.
